Scope and aim:
This workshop is organised as a satellite event of the International
Conference on Simulation Tools and Techniques (SIMUTools 2008). The aim of
the workshop is to gather researchers having practical experience with Petri
net tools. It addresses the application of tools for modelling, simulating
and analysing concurrent systems, as well as development and construction of
tools (e.g. tools presentations, efficient implementation, file exchange
formats). Simulation systems that use concepts of Petri nets are especially
welcome.
Possible topics include (but are not limited to) the following:
* Petri nets tools,
* simulation using Petri nets concepts,
* implementation of efficient simulators,
* implementation of analysis techniques,
* distributed simulation/verification of Petri nets,
* standardisation and tools compatibility issues,
* specification issues,
* protocol validation,
* flexible manufacturing systems,
* modelling agents,
* workflow management and process mining,
* biological networks.
Accepted papers will be published in the ACM digital library.
Extended versions of best accepted papers will be invited for publication
in the Petri Net newsletter.
Submissions guidelines and policy:
Authors are invited to submit papers, in a PDF file, complying with the ACM
conference proceedings format. Papers should be at most 10 pages long,
written in English. (for general requirements see:

The submission will be made online via the workshop web site.
Papers should be original contributions that have not been published
elsewhere and are not submitted to other events in parallel.
All papers will be peer-reviewed.
Tools presentations:
Tools presentations will take place during the mainstream conference.
The authors of accepted papers presenting a software tool will be invited
to make a demonstration of their tool during this dedicated session.
