Dear Members of Petri Nets and ACSD Communities,

We've all heard about recent most tragic events in Japan. On behalf of all of
us, we would like to express our deepest sympathy and send words of support and
hope to people in Japan, including many personal friends and colleagues.

The situation with our planned annual conference in Kanazawa is still
uncertain. It is simply impossible to predict what is going to happen in the
next couple of days, weeks or months. However, let us reassure you that our
Japanese colleagues together with the Steering Committees are closely
monitoring the situation and together will ensure that the forthcoming
conferences will take place in a safe environment. We will be providing an up
to date information about the decisions taken, and announce final decisions as
soon as possible. Moreover, it is our strong resolve that both conferences, as
well as the associated satellite events, will take place.

It is possible that we will postpone the conferences a few months, or move them
to another location (e.g. Newcastle, UK or Aarhus, Denmark). It is also
possible that we will both postpone and move.

We recommend to continue the submission of papers to the workshops, but to wait
with travel and accommodation arrangements. Given the present situation, we
will ask their organizers to extend the submission deadlines until the end of
March.

Alex Yakovlev (SC-chair for the ACSD community)

Kurt Jensen (SC-chair for the PN community)
