Dear Members of Petri Nets and ACSD Communities,

We're all witnessing the tragic events in Japan and on behalf of our
communities we would like to express our support and hope to people in Japan,
including many personal friends and colleagues.

After consultations with the Japanese organiser, Kunihiko Hiraishi, it has been
decided that the PN and ACSD 2011 conferences cannot take place in Kanazawa,
Japan. There is simply not enough evidence that it will be safe to travel to
Japan less than three months from now.

In the meantime, alternative options for hosting the conferences have been
explored, and we just received the final confirmation from Maciej Koutny that
it will be possible to organize the two conferences in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK,
during the original period June 20-24, 2011.

Therefore, IT HAS BEEN DECIDED THAT THE PN AND ACSD 2011 CONFERENCES WILL BE
HELD IN NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE, 20-24 JUNE 2011 with Maciej Koutny and Alex
Yakovlev as organisers.

In the next couple of weeks, new conference websites will be constructed,
providing all the necessary registration, travel and accommodation information.

We strongly recommend to continue the submission of papers to the planned
workshops and to start planning your trip to attend the meeting, and passing
this message to your friends and colleagues to ensure that the joint conference
will be a success.

Alex Yakovlev (SC-chair for the ACSD community)
Kurt Jensen (SC-chair for the PN community)
