The Department of Computing, Faculty of Engineering at Bergen University 
College, Norway has vacancies for 2-3 tenured associate professor positions in 
software engineering.  The successful candidate must hold a PhD degree in a 
field related to and relevant for software engineering.

Faculty at the Department of Computing are conducting research into software 
engineering technologies for distributed systems 
(http://prosjekt.hib.no/distech/), and supervise PhD students in cooperation 
with several universities, nationally and internationally. The research 
activities include model-based software engineering and software verification, 
development of software for applications in engineering, and construction of 
mobile, web, and enterprise software systems in cooperation with businesses in 
the Bergen region.

The Department of Computing has 30 permanent faculty, among them 3 professors, 
1 docent, 12 associate professors, as well as 10 PhD research fellows. The 
department offers a master degree in software engineering as well as bachelor 
studies in software engineering and information technology. Furthermore, a PhD 
programme within ICT engineering is under development.
