International Workshop on Knowledge Acquisition and Management in the Internet
of Things (KAMIoT 2012) in conjunction with IEE IUCC-2012 to be held in
Liverpool, England, UK, 25-27 June 2012
http://www.seba.bnu.edu.cn/KAMIoT2012/
Sponsored by IEEE, IEEE Computer Society and IEEE Technical Committee of
Scalable Computing (TCSC)
INTRODUCTION
=============
The Internet of Things provides a promising vision of the future world where
the virtual world of information technology integrates seamlessly with the real
world of things. It is regarded as an ideal platform for people, as well as
smart things, to communicate easily with each other not only in business and
industries but also in our daily scenarios. Automation and
intelligentialization are the primary characteristics of this promising
environment where knowledge and information play key roles. The knowledge bases
in the Internet of Things can acquire knowledge from domain experts as well as
knowledge mining tools, which can retrieve new rules and models from massive
information generated from people and things in future context of the Internet
of Things. The models of knowledge management, knowledge refinement, and
knowledge sharing are the keys to make the systems efficiently and effectively.
    KAMIoT 2012 will provide the scientific community a dedicated forum for
discussing research, development, and deployment efforts on knowledge issues in
the Internet of Things. We encourage researchers from both industry and
academia to submit original results of their works. Broad understanding of
possible approaches to solving knowledge issues in the Internet of Things would
be also encouraged.

PAPER SUBMISSION GUIDELINE
==========================
We encourage submissions of full papers and position papers presenting novel
ideas that may lead to insightful technical discussions at this workshop.
Papers should contain original contributions not published or submitted
elsewhere, and references to related state-of-the-art work. All submissions
should be prepared in the IEEE conference proceedings format (up to 6 pages in
PDF/DOC format) and will be peer reviewed by three program committee members.
Detailed guideline and the template are available at
http://www.computer.org/portal/web/cscps/formatting.
Please submit papers by email to Yunchuan Sun (yunch at bnu.edu.cn).

PUBLICATIONS
==============
All accepted paper will be included into the IEEE conference proceedings
published by IEEE Computer Society Press (EI-indexed).
Most accepted papers after extending will be considered for publication in the
following special issues:
 - Special issue of Personal and Ubiquitous Computing journal (ISSN: 1617-4909,
SCI IF:1.137) for selected papers;
 - Special issue of Automatika journal (ISSN: 0005-1144, SCI IF: 0.108) for
selected papers;
 - Special issue of International Journal of Digital Content: Technology and
its Applications (ISSN: 1975-9339, EI-indexed) for most accepted papers.
   Authors of accepted papers will be invited to publish a short paper (2-4
pages) in the theme collection of Communications in Mobile Computing (ComC)
(ISSN: 2192-1121), which is a Springer Open Access online-only journal. Open
access fees will be waived for these papers.
