The workshop looks for significant contributions to multimedia content encoding, network transfer, and quality evaluation in theoretical and practical aspects. The multimedia & networking computing domain emerges from the integration of multimedia content such as audio and video with content distribution technologies. This workshop aims to cover contributions in both the design and analysis in the context of multimedia, wired/wireless/heterogeneous networks, and quality evaluation. It also intends to bring together researchers and practitioners from academia and industry to focus on advanced multimedia and networking performance analysis concepts and establish new collaborations in these areas. SCOPE AND TOPICS ================ Authors may contribute to the workshop by submitting articles about the research results, projects and industrial experiences that describe significant advances in the following areas, but are not limited to: - Mobile TV - IPTV & Internet TV - Video coding and processing - Multimedia Quality: Objective and Subjective evaluation techniques - Peer-to-peer multimedia streaming - Content adaptation and scaling - Error resilience and concealment - Channel modelling and simulation - Erasure coding, modulation, multiplexing - video transmission in wireless networks - Multimedia broadcasting - Multimedia technologies for e-health - Multimedia content caching and distribution - Congestion control and rate adaptation - Cross-layer optimization - Traffic monitoring and control - Network structure, routing and resource management - Client playout buffer management IMPORTANT DATES =============== Submission Deadline: 15 March, 2012 Authors Notification: 15 April, 2012 Final Manuscript Due: 08 May, 2012 Workshop: 25-27 June, 2012 PAPER SUBMISSION GUIDELINE ========================== Prospective authors are invited to submit manuscripts reporting original unpublished research and recent developments in the topics related to the workshop. The length of the papers should not exceed 6 pages + 2 pages for overlength charges, including figures and references.
