I recreated the sym link and permissions you have for /usr/bin/hg but even that still worked! To finally get the same error you received, I had to create a Mac alias for /usr/bin/hg. Is that how you created it? Anyway, removing that link, or replacing it with: sudo ln -s /usr/local/bin/hg /usr/bin/hg should make Murky work.
