Hello,
Isn't there a
    self.downloaddirnames  = ['petsc-pkg-metis']
missing in config/BuildSystem/config/packages/metis.py?
Without this flag and with --with-external-packages-dir + --with-packages-dir, I end up with this kind of error:

Downloading file:///workgpfs/rech/stp/rstp001/Dude/externalpackages/v5.1.0-p4.tar.gz to /workgpfs/rech/stp/rstp001/Dude/externalpackages/arch-linux2-c-opt-real/_d_v5.1.0-p4.tar.gz Extracting /workgpfs/rech/stp/rstp001/Dude/externalpackages/arch-linux2-c-opt-real/_d_v5.1.0-p4.tar.gz Executing: cd /workgpfs/rech/stp/rstp001/Dude/externalpackages/arch-linux2-c-opt-real; chmod -R a+r petsc-pkg-metis-0adf3ea7785d;find petsc-pkg-metis-0adf3ea7785d -type d -name "*" -exec chmod a+rx {} \; Looking for METIS at git.metis, hg.metis or a directory starting with ['metis']
Could not locate an existing copy of METIS:
['petsc-pkg-sowing-bc33abe1e981', 'scotch_6.0.4-p1', 'petsc-pkg-metis-0adf3ea7785d']

Thanks,
Pierre
