Petsc matrices in Matlab

Hi,

     Is there a way to directly read a Petsc sequential sparse matrix  
in Matlab using a Matlab script?
     I vaguely remember doing this a couple of years ago, and the  
script possibly was a part of the Petsc distribution. Is that still  
the case?
     I am, otherwise, aware of the methods outlined in chapter 9 of  
the Petsc users guide.
