Hello Jed, I think it would be nice to fix those bugs in the stable releases, therefore I did the cherry-picking and created pull requests on bitbucket. If you feel this is too much trouble perhaps a known issues list would be an alternative. To just have it fail with the rather obscure error messages like now can be a bit irritating.
