No.

The ASCII VTK format has been deprecated by VTK since almost the
beginning of time.  Use an XML format (*.vts or *.vtr for DMDA).

DMPlex supports *.vtk for historical reasons, though only in serial.  If
you use DMPlex, you should write *.vtu.
