Maybe it's time to make another attempt. Some years ago the PFLOTRAN developers decided we needed a new logo and Glenn Hammond came up with a simple one that I think looks quite nice (see www.pflotran.org). It just has block lettering and some minimal elements like a water table curve that convey a sense of what PFLOTRAN does. Perhaps we can think up something simple like this for PETSc?
