Wednesday 6:15pm, uplink dies. Router says PPP authentication fails. Of course, all staff of the 'ISP' already left. Leaving three messages on their '24h support hotline' (an answering machine). Thursday morning, 16 hours later, business hours. Calling again, I get forwarded to accounting. A nice woman tells me the account has been suspended automatically because of an unpaid bill from 2001. Check calendar, suppress WTF. Isn't it a bit odd that the system would report this two years later, when it actually charges my bank account automatically, and I never get any paper invoices at all? Yes, and they kindly offer to investigate the matter. I'm only paying them USD 100/mo, I guess I should be grateful. </rant> Daniel P.s. Someone might want to mirror stuff, in case I should lose my temper during the next phone call :)
