hello list,

i am getting this very vague impression that the role
squid has been playing in the past is vanishing.

but as someone who is working near schools, i need
content filtering and reading about relaydb i thought
maybe pr0n sites could be filtered as well.

suppose i have a list of bad sites. would it be
possible to do a kind of filtering using a table
just as w/spammers? forgive me if this is a very
stupid idea, i am just getting to learn pf...

the point is, that i have a firewall/router which
is too weak to run squid but runs happily w/pf.
the traffic is not big, the firewall is few rules.
but i need to run squid on a machine one hop above
to do the filtering. i dont need the cache, it's
just about the filtering. i know this
is not true content filtering, it's just based on
URL's and ip's but still better than nothing and
the very well known places are blocked. and maybe
later some w/the help of some 3rd party program
true content filtering could be done.

so what do you think, is this a viable idea?
