I did see that patch already, as well as a newer one, but both of those are not against my current version of ftp-proxy (currently version 1.33 2003/08/22).
Do you know if there is a more recent version of the patch, or if an older ftp-proxy will work properly wth my version of pf (2.02)? Should I be using the older version?

Try the reverse proxy patch for ftp-proxy, it adds a switch for just this purpose, and the man page is patched to document it as well.
