Newer versions of BitTornado (an experimental BitTorrent client) use a 
random port between 10000 to 60000.

First, I think the OP knows what those ports are used for.

Second, there are legitimate non-copyright-infringing uses for both 
Gnutella and BitTorrent (I use the latter for legitimate purposes on a 
semi-regular basis). I really think we could do without the implication 
that everyone who uses these services is doing so to infringe 
copyright.
