If you need something that will have a higher chance of working with
your chosen hardware, in my experience the best bet for production is
amd64 in -current.
That said, you should probably try -current smp, and submit detailed
bug reports when your cards cause the system to drop into ddb at boot
like my Qlogic ISP2300 does on at least some SuperMicro dual Xeon
mainboards. :-)
If you can't follow -current, however, then just stick with 3.5 on
i386 until 3.6 is out.
