yes, but most of the time that 'strict clients' are running windows or Mac OS. we know ftp work very horrible, but people keep using it and linuxses firewall has support for it. we are running so far the best firewall "PF" we should find the way to make ftp clients work properly behind pf.

what about connecting those 'strict clients' via sshd proxy on the local machine?
