Would a creating a PF certification be worth putting some effort

The other part, the MAJOR part, is to get employers to buy into it as
meaningful. I don't know how well that part is going. Hopefully it's
going well among the companies who are looking for BSD expertise.
Well in the corporate world, the first thing anyone is likely to ask
when you propose an alternative firewall is "who else uses it/how
widely is it used?" The next is "how easy is it to get support if
the original engineer leaves?" I went through this recently myself.
So just having a certification would indicate to employers that there
is at least enough commercial interest in it to develop a
certification process, and put them somewhat at ease that they have a
way to qualify replacement personnel should the original implementer
get run over by a bus.
I don't see a certification as "raising awareness about OpenBSD", I
see it as a way to make people's jobs easier when they have to talk
to their PHB.
