Howzabout simply inheriting your "child" window from PFC's "w_child". 
Then, open this child window from the "parent" window using

Open( w_thechild, this|parent )

Now, you will get the parent/child window behavior automatically (since
that is the native-PB/windows "child window's" purpose).  So whenever the
parent window closes, so will the child.  Also, note that the child window
is "always on top", and it cannot "go outside" of the parent.
