Hi,
I don't know about your particular situation, but if you didn't have any
functionality defined in the ancestor object, you may be able to recover the
descendent.
1. Export the object from the library painter.
2. Open the exported syntax.
3. Look for code like "global type xxxxxx from yyyyyy
where xxxxxx is the descendent and yyyyyy is the ancestor.
4. In place of the ancestor replace "global type xxxxxx from
nonvisualobject" for eg, if your object is a non visual class object.
5. Alternatively, youmay also create another object similar to the ancestor
and follow step 4.
6. Remember if you had any functionality in the ancestor object, that is
lost.
7. In future youmay want to ge into versioning.

Hope this helps.

Sanjay
