Pat,

Remember, when you change global system settings you run the risk of causing
problems in other applications.  It is very possible that changing the short
date format will cause other application to not operate.  It is probably
safer to not use the [short date] format in PowerBuilder.

My 2 cents worth.  Actual value may be less.
