As it says in help:
"If the Async DBParm parameter is set to 1 (for asynchronous operation), a user
or a script can cancel a query either before the first row is returned or during
the data retrieval process."
I tried to set Async DBParm to 1 in order to make retrieval asynchronous. This
suppose to cancel the retrieve before the first row comes back. But it does not
seam working. Am I out of luck here? Is it normal behavior or it is a PB bug?
Thanks,
Stella

Cancel take place at the end of the end of the select during the fetch.
That is why the system
keeps going.

Does not help. I think main problem is not only when there is a lot of rows
to
be retrieved, but before first row comes back. And an Hourglass does not
show
during this time if retrieverow is coded. And even when I cancel the
retrieve,
program is still doing something and then comes back with the first row.
Thanks,
Stella

Just put the hourglass back up in the retriverow event?

Subject: PFCSIG Cancel retrival and Hourglass
Hello everybody,
I have a problem canceling retrieve on a dw and displaying an Hourglass
until
cancel happens. We have some long retrieves that users would like to cancel.
In
order to cancel the retrieve, I need to have a code in the Retrieverow event
of
the dw. This code wipes out the Hourglass! pointer that otherwise would
show
while the retrieve is in progress. Does anybody experienced same problem or
maybe someone has solution/workaround for that.
I need to solve this either with or without the PFC ASAP. Please help!
TIA,
Stella Kravchenko
