If you are using the INI file, then you have to override the
of_isRegistryAvailable() function from the ancestor and just return False
from the function. For some unknown reason, PFC assumes that if you have a
registry available, you want to use it. I have not found a way to just turn
off the registry with a set function.

I enabled the preference service in the window's preopen event the same
thing I did
in my pfc 5.x application. The only difference now is that I don't use the
registry,
but rather an USER.INI file.
