Not sure how you would go about this with PowerBuilder but Sybase sell a
suite of tools called PowerDesigner. One of the tools within this suite,
DataArchitect, can reverse engineer a database into a Physical Database
Model (PDM) (a side benefit here is that your source schema is now
graphically documented). The PDM can then be used as the basis for
generating a database creation script for a large number of different DBMS,
including SQL Anywhere. I have successfully used this tool to port a number
of database schemas and also to generate documention for existing schemas.

A word of warning though, you must check the Physical Data Model that
DataArchitect creates from your source schema very carefully to ensure its
accuracy.

All in all though I have found DataArchitect a very good starting point for
reverse engineering a database.

Subject: PFCSIG Non PFC Question - Transferring Sybase Database to SQL
Anywhere

Hi All!

I have a requirement. I am using PB 6.5 with Sybase 10 and SQL Anywhere 5.5.
I have a live database in Sybase. I need to transfer database (data not
required to be transferred) to SQL Anywhere. Is there any method through
which I can transfer table, stored procedures, database triggers etc. from
Sybase to SQL Anywhere platform.

Any help would be highly appreciated and I would if happy if some one comes
with a real brilliant idea.

Thanx
