Tammy, Yogesh, Sheldon, All
Sorry, but I have a couple of important CORRECTIONS to make...
I have updated my previous email text below. Basically, I have discovered
that to be "certified compliant" (for PB 6.x using Windows), you will need
both the PowerBuilder 6.5.1 Maintenance Release, PLUS the PFC 6.5.1 Special
Y2K Fixes. I had not noticed that the Sybase matrix had been updated. It
used to say that PB 6.0 was "certified compliant", but now it says PB
6.5.1.
To help clarify, I have added an online PFC Y2K FAQ at
http://www.pfccheatsheet.com/PFCY2K.htm
I have also posted the PFC Y2K Special Release Notes there for your
reference. Thanks Sheldon for pointing that out to me. I am also looking
for any Release Notes specifically for PFC 6.5.1 so that I may post them at
http://www.pfccheatsheet.com/PFC6_5_01.htm - Does anyone know if there were
any PFC changes from 6.5 to 6.5.1 (other than the special Y2K fixes patch)?
Have any more PB/PFC Y2K info? If so, please drop me a line!
Thanks,
~Sharon

Yes, I do believe that you can use PFC 6.5.1 with PB 6.5.0...***
In general, you can use any future "point" PFC release with a given PB
release - http://www.pfcguide.com/faq/faq_misc.asp#compatible
***However, check the EBF chart, because you probably need to go to
PowerBuilder 6.5.1 anyway in order to be deemed "certified compliant".

Yes, I do believe that both PowerBuilder and PFC 6.5 need the 6.5.1 Y2K
fixes. That means the PowerBuilder 6.5.1 Maintenance Release, plus the
special PFC 6.5.1 Y2K fixes.
Technically (at least for NT 386), PFC 5.0.03(and lower) & 6.0 & 6.5 are
not totally Y2K compliant ~ and even PFC 5.0.04 has at least one glitch.
The Y2K fixes were not discovered and corrected until PFC 7.0. And that is
why the official, special 5.0.04/6.5.1 PFC Y2K PBLs were created. See?
Note that in the matrixes, PowerBuilder 6.5.1 with EBFs pb651mnt.zip +
651pfcy2k.zip are needed.

1) Get the PBDJ Feb'99 issue! - It covers Y2K, totally, including PFC...
a) The PBDJ February 1999 issue (Volume 6, Issue 2) contains an excellent
article specifically on the PFC (complete with downloadable code), written
by Brian Grimm.
b) If you want to code the Y2K fixes yourself, you can download the PBDJ
source code listings (all fixes) from here
http://www.sys-con.com/pbdj/source/2-99/index.html
c) If for some reason (people have told me), you are unable to receive
PBDJ, *maybe* you can get an access code for a free digital copy from here
