I came across the following (unanswered) question in Rik Brooks' PFC forum
and must say that it hit home. I've been thinking of doing the same thing
but don't know how. Does anyone have any solutions/suggestions?
"I have to admit, I'll sidestep the PFC when I know I can do something with
a few lines of code on my own - but it still bugs me when I can't figure out
the PFC way of doing something.
Here's the scenario: I have one column on my MASTER datawindow. The master
is an external source datawindow. The column is defined as a
DropDownDataWindow. When the user selects a value from the DDDW column, I
want to have my detail datawindow retrieve based on that value. Would the
PFC Linkage service even be relevant in this scenario? If so, how would it
fire off based on an "itemchanged" DDDW column value? The MASTER is never
really retrieved, it's the DDDW column that has all the data. I know it's a
one liner in standard Powerscript (the way I went), but still..."
