Bruce,
I have come across this before. For me what happened was I inserting a
service I had written from dev pbls to the official pbls for our department.
I placed a corp level object into the corp level pbls, but I forgot to copy
over the PFE level descendant. The object was an application service so when
I added an instance var to the app_manager I got the same error... I am not
sure why I got that error exactly, I would think that should have received
an invalid type error. Do you have a pfe level descendant of the custom
object you are using in your library path?
