Hi All

I have the need to utilise multiple transaction objects with an application.
A quick preview: The front end app was built with Visual Basic. It utilises
3 Microsoft Access 2000 DB's and an ODBC connection to DB2/400. 2 of the
Access DB's are linked to a master DB and therefore VB recognises it as 1
database. The customer wants to retain this configuration due to the ability
to replace any single db with an upadted one without affecting the users own
data. However PB can't recognise linked db's/tables so I am creating 4
transaction objects. Now for the PFC bit.

I have created 3 global (correct?) instances of n_tr - gtr_data, gtr_calc
and gtr_server. I am using SQLCA (n_tr) as the primary txn object for the
master Access 2000 db. I am also going to use the txn registration service
to manage the transactions. For reporting I have created "views" of all the
attached table in the master db.

3 questions.

1. I want to move from INI file to Registry entries but cannot see how to
create and use 4 registry keys. In the INI file I have 4 sections [UserDB],
[DataDB], [CalcDB] and [ServerDB] that I want to translate into registry
keys. How?

2. Is the creation of the txn objects as global correct or should I make
them instance variables of the appmanager?

3. Any recommendations/hints/suggestions as to properly managing this
configuration? I know I am going to have to manually populate datastores
with data from multiple DB's for editing/updating but that is just the
nature of the beast but any other info would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Regards
