If you are using sharedata, you really don't need the linkage service, since
the SELECT will be the same for both dw's.
For updates:
Just make sure (if there's any updating) that the proper columns are
updateable in whichever dwo you use to do the updates. In other words, dwo
1 has 10 columns (A - J)and columns A - E are visible. We do a
dw_1.sharedata(dw_2). dwo 2 would also have 10 columns with A,B, and F - J
visible. If you want to make both updateable with the update happening
through dw_1, all updateable columns in dw_2 must also be updateable in
dw_1.
For navigation:
Just use ScrollToRow() when the rowfocus changes in the other.
For sharing:
Since one dw is on the window, and the other is on a tabpage (u_tabpage or
regular? I'll assume u_tabpage), they need to be able to get a reference to
one another. The easiest way would probably be to setup a of_register type
function whereby the tabpage passes a reference of the dw to it's parent
(tabpage), which in turn passes the referenced dw to it's parent (the
window). Then dw_1 and 2 can both be referenced directly from the window.
Whew!
(note: dw_3 and 4 are on the same tabpage so they can both talk to each
other, and be careful if you reuse the tabpage with the of_register on it,
obviously the new window would need the same function.)
HTH,
Kevin
