Another option to watch out for is computed columns. If you add a value to a computed column and have the update property of the datawindow set to Key and Modified columns, I have seen this - RCBR&U occur. Our solutions was to after adding a value to any computed column, set the status flag to not modified. A couple of things could be causing this: (a) Another user actually changed the underlying row. (b) You changed the underlying row in a different process ( another window, a trigger, etc.) (c) You changed the status flags somehow. In my experience, option (a) is actually the least likely and I jump right to (c). The best way to figure out what is going on is to do this: Before the update, create a loop that will go through all the columns of the row that is given you troubles and have it display the itemStatus. I've even created a function that takes the dwStatus enumerated type as an argument and opens a message box with the english equivalant. After viewing all the status', find which one is not as you expect and then work back through your code to figure out where it is being changed. Good luck....
