We have just begun to research this problem ourseleves.  So what I am going to tell 
you about we have not yet tested.  If you have Oracle 8 you should read about the "new 
features", supposedly they have added a simpler way to call externals from within a 
stored procedure which can be executed.  If you have Oracle 7.x then you can use DBMS 
pipes which is  more complex.  I would recommend talking with your DBA and if you do 
not have one then looking at your database providers documentation.  I hope this was a 
little help in putting you on the right track.  Sorry I don't have more details at 
this point.

The Unix Machine has the shell and I want to run it
from a PB app that resides in the users' PCs.
