More on Jeff Dean leaving Google
Many of you won't be familiar with Jeff, but just to give you an idea of
his importance to the firm long before the days of Google AI, he was key
to creating many crucial Google infrastructure systems and services
since the firm's earliest days. This includes the key architectural
aspects of Google Search itself, and internal mechanisms such as
MapReduce and Bigtable. The list is way too long to get into here ... He
joined Google in 1999 as employee #30.
