Sure sounds like a Secret Service cover up denying Cassidy's testimony re Trump
The Secret Service is saying that Cassidy's story of being told that
Trump grabbed at the steering wheel -- and an agent -- is untrue. They're
apparently (they say they will testify to the committee) claiming not
only that it didn't happen as she says she was told, but that she wasn't
told that story in the first place.
Logically, this starts to look like a Secret Service cover up.
1) Cassidy is a young, dedicated conservative, working in the White House
under Trump.
2) There's no *logical* reason for her to make up a story about being told
of events when the person telling her could simply deny it.
Point (2) is crucial. Why tell a false story that could be easily denied?
She strikes me as a very intelligent person.
The probability right now (we'll know more when we hear what the Secret
Service testifies to about this -- they may claim she somehow
"misunderstood" what she was being told), is that the Secret Service is
simply embarrassed by the whole situation and is likely taking advantage
of the lack of recordings or other hard evidence to try make a young
woman look confused or as a liar.
