Administrivia: My "One Strike" rule regarding insults
I would think it would be unnecessary to be explicit about this,
but given the continuing disintegration of social norms I think I'd
better spell this out.
If you want to disagree with anything I say or write, feel free to
email me a direct email with your thoughts. If everybody agreed with me
all the time, I'd be terrified.
However. If I view your comments to me as being insulting, you will be
removed from the associated mailing list(s) immediately. I've been
running these lists for a very, very long time. The oldest is PRIVACY,
and it's currently on Digest Vol 31. That number increments only once a
year, gang. And I've been doing this at considerable expense in time and
other resources, all along. I am not inclined to provide content to
persons who cannot address differences in civil ways in emails to me.
My ball, my rules.
So please view this as my explicit statement on this issue -- or call
it a warning if you so desire. I have no patience to "play games" with
anyone in these regards.
