How to tell the difference between a Twitter legacy verification check
mark and a Twitter Blue verification check mark

Twitter Blue Pay-to-Play blue check marks are rolling out, and there
DOES appear to be a way to determine if it's a legacy "notable"
verification or a Twitter Blue verification. If you click on the check
in a user profile, a pop-up appears that explains why it was verified.

Of course this means making that determination can take multiple
clicks, and is not obvious on posts themselves, leaving plenty of room
for confusion. Also, it's not yet clear what happens when a legacy
verification account subscribes to Blue, hopefully the legacy text
holds.
