BREAKING: McCarthy loses 14th vote, fighting nearly breaks out on House floor
REAKING: McCarthy, who had proclaimed he had the votes to win, with
virtually all observers expecting him to win on this 14th House vote
for Speaker, LOSES AGAIN when Matt Gaetz votes Present instead of for
McCarthy -- who then goes ballistic and goes up to Gaetz to talk to
him. Another member apparently almost attacks Gaetz and appeared to be
held back by yet *another* member. House now voting to adjourn until
Monday. All of this seen publicly thanks to the freedom that cameras
have had due to lack of House rules during this period. Nothing like
this has ever happened before in the history of the U.S. And when a
Speaker is ultimately seated, pretty much EVERY VOTE in the House can
be expected to likely be much like this. -L
