In 2022 report, Twitter said only 2.6% of active accounts used any
form of 2FA
In a July 2022 report, Twitter claimed that only 2.6% of active
Twitter accounts had 2FA enabled, and of those: 74.4% had SMS enabled,
28.9% had auth apps enabled, and 0.5% had security keys enabled. Any
account could have more than one of these enabled. The report covered
the period from 7/2021 - 12/2021. Logically, the users with 2FA
enabled would be the ones most concerned about their account security,
and even among those around 70% were enabled for SMS only.
