The irony of hiding Twitter blue checks
The quintessential essence of Elon's taking over Twitter is that the
"blue check" -- once a much coveted and desirable mark of "notability"
and authenticity, is under Elon's "pay for the blue check" plan so
degraded and humiliating that Twitter is now offering an option for
users who pay to use Twitter the ability hide the associated blue
check entirely! Since on April 1 Twitter is scheduled to begin
removing all of the pre-Elon legacy checkmarks, all of the checkmarks
that remain after that process will be from users paying into his
online hellscape. -L
