Responses that say "Shut down AI!" -- I say NO!

I get these responses that just say "just shut them all down, we don't need AI
systems." This is incredibly short-sighted and wrong. AI in its broadest sense
is enormously powerful and potentially beneficial technology -- we've already
seen
that demonstrated in these very early days. Yes, there are dangers and risks
too,
and as I've said, that's the same with virtually every tech. A hammer can be
used
to build a house -- or smash in a skull.
A primary key is not to confuse and conflate our concerns about how AI
is currently being managed -- with the technology itself. They are of
course intrinsically related but not the same thing! That in a nutshell
is the foundational aspect of my stance on these issues. -L
