And finally, about passkeys and biometrics
One other question I'm getting: If phones use biometrics (fingerprint
or face, etc.) for unlock, doesn't that protect the passkeys if the
same sequence is required to login using passkeys?
And the answer to this would generally be yes. But I know of no
requirement to use biometric phone locks to use passkeys, and many people
don't. That's part of why so many stolen phones are unlocked by thieves
who spy (for example, simple passwords) being entered, steal the phones,
and go to town.
