Emails from Google about "Album Archive" shutting down
So I'm being asked if emails now suddenly showing up ostensibly from
Google about "Album Archive" shutting down next month are legit. Some
people suspect they are scam emails.
No, they're apparently legit. Thing is, I don't have any memory of
ever using Google "Album Archive" -- but in my case they seem to have
a few old images from a long abandoned Blogger configuration and a
couple of my ancient Google Hangouts.
The emails suggest that you use Takeout to get the data before the
shutdown. Which is good.
But I'd feel better about this if I actually remembered using such a
service under that name! -L
