[YouTube's Decline] YouTube's nutso "videos you can't save to a
favorites list" rules
This drives me nuts. Any YouTube video that has been tagged as "for
kids" cannot be saved to a YT favorites list. Why? I don't know the real
answer. I've never been able to get a straight response other than
nonsense from Google about this. And the problem is made worse by so many
videos being marked for kids when they actually are just FINE for
everybody.
For example, someone just pointed out to me a streaming YT channel
of an egg incubator at a public library. You can watch and wait
for them to hatch. But if you try to save it to a YT favorites list
to come back later, you can't because YT claims they have to block
saves for the video to comply with child protection laws. Give me a break!
You're really trying to tell me that an educational stream tagged for
children of hatching eggs can't be saved to a list to PROTECT THE CHILDREN?
Between this and YouTube bringing back election disinformation videos
(in the U.S. only!), YT is turning into a Kafkaesque parody of reality.
I love YT, but you gotta call out insanity when you see it! -L
