Google and Genesis AI
I can't resist. Google is reportedly calling their new
human-replacing news story writing AI tool "Genesis". Nice humble
name, huh? Maybe Google is thinking in terms of biblical
"LET THERE BE AI!" God-like powers.
But actually, I can't help thinking about the "Genesis" device from
"Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan" (1982). Pitched as a tool to turn
sterile planets into lush lands of life, it turned out to be a
horrific weapon that actually destroyed planets. 'Nuf said. -L
