You don't need much imagination to imagine a robocar disaster

This doesn't take a lot of imagination to see the risks. San Francisco
(or here in L.A.) Thousands of robotaxis roaming the streets, some of
them narrow streets, canyon roads, etc. EARTHQUAKE. Power failures,
cell sites damaged and connectivity fails. FIRES. Everything goes
crazy. Robotaxis freeze up not knowing what to do. Without
connectivity, human controllers can't reach them. People trying to
escape are blocked by the vehicles. Fire and other emergency crews
can't get past them and can't tell them to move as they would human
drivers. ABSOLUTE TRAIN WRECK of a tech disaster making a natural
disaster even worse. -L
