Without blocking, Twitter's status in app stores gets hazy
I'm seeing articles circulating suggesting that the Apple app store
and Google Play store contain provisions that would prevent Musk from
removing blocking from Twitter and still remain in the stores.
This isn't entirely clear. The actual wording of the provisions can be
interpreted in various ways, including that a means to block users
must be available at the administrative level (not necessarily
available to individual Apple users, for example), and the term
"block" is generally not defined and could be interpreted to include
more limited "muting" functions. So this is not as clear cut as might
be hoped.
