Google bringing back feature that was being badly abused 15 years ago?

Apparently Google is bringing back a way to comment on search result
links, something they tried in 2008 and that was immediately seriously
abused. Even with moderation, this is bound to go badly. I wrote a
number of blog posts on this back at the time, including:
