The fundamental problem with Generative AI
The fundamental problem is not these generative AI systems themselves,
nor the engineers designing them (most of whom are top notch). The
problem is the C-suite executives pushing unethical practices when
gathering data from websites, lack of proper sourcing of AI answers
even when the data involved was obtained legitimately, and the massive
fear and greed leading them to deploy these crude and primitive models
into the public sphere years before they're ready, and depending on
the public's ignorance of the underlying technology to mask how it's
unreliable at best and incredibly dangerous at worst, especially as a
adjunct or replacement to conventional Search. _
