It's time for U.S. federal courts to permit still camera, video
cameras, and live audio/video coverage for at least important cases.
It's beyond ridiculous that a quarter of the way into the 21st century
we still have to depend on hand-drawn sketches!

Detractors always trot out the - "OH NO! The lawyers will GRANDSTAND!"
arguments. And usually point at the O.J. Simpson trial as their
example.

While I'm not thrilled with the prospects of weeks or months of daily
continuous trial coverage burying all other news on CNN, etc. due to
major federal cases coverage, we now live in an age of mass social
media disinformation, and being able to see the actual trials directly
and in real time is now a necessity to help push back against the
purveyors of misinformation and disinformation.

Many state courts manage TV coverage, and the Trump, et al. election
interference state trials in Georgia will be televised and live
streamed. The Supreme Court now provides live audio and downloadable
audio of its oral arguments.

The federal courts are dealing with important 21st century cases --
it's time for them to permit TV coverage that has been the norm in
most places since the mid-20th century!
