Foghorn Leghorn

Shame on me. It took me all these years to learn -- today -- that the
classic Warners Bros cartoon character Foghorn Leghorn -- the big
rooster with the southern drawl, is directly based on a comedian on
Fred Allen's 1940s radio show named Kenny Delmar, who played a
loudmouthed southern politician character named Senator Claghorn, who
had the catch phrase -- you guessed it! -- "That's a joke son!" I'm
ashamed this one took me so long. -L
